On the occasion of Hanns Eisler’s Centenary (he was born on 6.7.1898), Notebook has the joy and the privilege to publish the following essay by the noted Eisler scholar Peter Schweinhardt (Berlin).
P. Schweinhardt works on the ongoing edition of Eisler’s complete works and was responsible for the text accompanying the catalogue of the Eisler Centenary Exhibition in the Academy for the Arts in Berlin earlier this year.
