The Library has collected a large number of old books and manuscripts within a short period of time. Among the rare books are first editions of Byzantine music from Bucharest, Istanbul, Smyrna and Athens along with not easily available editions of works by Greek composers. The manuscripts include books of Byzantine music, original writings of Nileus Kamarados, autographed works and correspondence of Greek composers and artists such as Georgios Axiotis, Gina Bachauer, Manos Hadjidakis, Ioannis Komninos, Lila Lalaouni, Dimitri Mitropoulos, Georgios Ponirides, Aimilios Riadis, Nikos Skalkottas, Sotos Vasiliadis, Dionysios Visvardis, Haris Vrontos, Iannis Xenakis and others, as well as a special collection of manuscript performance material of unpublished Greek operettas.
